How We Describe Fabric References

How TweedCloth distinguishes real reference photographs, pattern illustrations, buyer targets and confirmed fabric facts.

Three kinds of reference.

A pattern direction is an editorial description. A reference photograph shows the documented material in that image. A supplied article needs its own identifier and specification. The site does not turn guide identifiers into product codes.

Illustration and measurement.

Motif diagrams are labelled as unscaled illustrations. They explain visual relationships and are not photographs of supplied fabric. Real size comparisons require reliable scale evidence; screen dimensions do not establish a physical repeat.

Facts and targets.

Composition, weight, usable width, current supply and performance belong to the actual fabric record. A buyer target remains a request until confirmed. Pattern and garment guides explain how to ask the right questions without assigning invented values.

Sources and attribution.

The website uses original motif illustrations, Fred Textile reference photography and published company information. Production information can be reviewed on the Fred Textile website. Protected origin names require their own authority and documentary basis.

Languages and review.

Language versions follow the same reference topics and distinguish confirmed facts from buyer targets. No certified technical or native-speaker review is claimed. If you find an unclear term or factual error, please identify the page and supporting reference when contacting us.

Help correct a reference.

Send the page address and the detail to check. Include the actual sample or document reference where relevant.
